Before and after 10 Rolfing sessions

What is the difference between Rolfing and massage?
Rolfing is a deep-tissue method which permanently changes the body's structure, unlike massage, which works only superficially and brings about little or no change. In Rolfing, the entire body's relationship to gravity is examined and improved. Each session starts with an initial evaluation to determine where the body is immobile, and these areas are strategically released to create a more efficient posture.

How often should I go to Rolfing?
Rolfing is done in a 10-session series, a program which unfolds the body like a flower, first releasing the superficial "sleeve" layers before affecting the deep core structure. The real success of Rolfing is due to this organization of the sessions, which systematically leads the body into a heightened level of integration. I like to describe it as "spoonfeeding" the new body over the old body. The speed of change in the body is astounding, and the body therefore continues to develop between sessions, as well as after the tenth session. Spacing of the sessions is flexible, from once a week to once a month.

What kind of people get Rolfed?
Some people are insecure about whether they are the "type" to get Rolfing sessions. The answer to this is: All people are appropriate for Rolfing. It is a gentle method where I follow the body's signals for release and opening up. The quality of touch is intense, but not necessarily painful. My clientele consists of business people, yogis, artists, athletes, and children, to name just a few groups.

For what reasons do people go for Rolfing?
The most common reason that bring people to my office is chronic pain and tension in the back, shoulders, and neck. However, many also opt for Rolfing to improve posture, relieve overall stiffness, or to attain a more relaxed, positive outlook on life. Rolfing is a holistic bodywork method, which means that the physical changes are often accompanied personal changes.

How much does Rolfing cost?
One Rolfing session costs €80/$130 for 75 minutes.
